Rosalie Rendu

A place where seeds are planted.

The Rosalie Rendu Center at the Carriage Manor Apartments is a partnership between the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, represented by Sister Trinitas Hemandez, D.C., and the Junior League of Palo Alto, Mid Peninsula. Sister "'T" launched the center in 1998 to help Iow-income families in East Palo Alto build the English language and life skills necessary for better employment - and a way up the economic ladder in the Bay Area. At the Rosalie Rendu Center, volunteers work with Iow-income families to help break the cycle of poverty through education, mentoring and raising the self-esteem of the entire family. Volunteers teach English classes, host a homework help center, provide access to computers and offer a structured educational play group for pre-schoolers at the "Tot Spot." Mentorlng Days help the families build important life skills.
